High demand: city maps reprinted once again
Due to the continuing high demand from the people of Chemnitz, the city archive has once again arranged for a reprint of the two historical city maps from 1914 and 1946. The plans have been reprinted in their original size and in colour. They can be purchased at the City Archive building, Aue 16, during opening hours.
The plans provide an insight into the respective street layout with the street names of the time. Public buildings are highlighted separately. The surrounding area immediately adjacent to the town is also mapped. Between 1914 and 1946, Ebersdorf and Markersdorf (1919), Heinersdorf (1922), Rottluff (1926) and Reichenhain (1929) were incorporated into Chemnitz.
The 1946 plan contains a street directory and a separate section of the city centre.
