Heroes in the shade garden: tips for a shady garden

With a green thumb at the adult education centre: Lecture on 19 June, 7 p.m.

On Friday 19 June at 7 pm, interested parties are invited to a lecture and discussion about problem areas in gardens and plots at the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre in the TIETZ, course room 4.07. The focus will be on shady locations and garden areas where not many flowers grow. An experienced hobby gardener will offer practical solutions.

Admission is free. Registration is required (online: www.vhs-chemnitz.de or by telephone: 0371 488-4343).

Gardeners know the problem when almost nothing wants to thrive under the canopy of a huge tree or in shady areas of the property. But surprising discoveries can also be made in this location. These include flowering plants that also delight bees and bumblebees. They exist: the uncomplicated perennials that conjure up light even in the darkest garden areas.

The event will also provide all kinds of interesting information about growing fruit in a shade garden and using bulbous plants for unrivalled spring magic. In addition to helpful tips and advice for green fingers, there will also be plenty of opportunity to share your own gardening experiences.
