"Helping with music"
Children's festival followed by a charity concert at the AJZ on 4 July from 3 p.m.
Under the motto "Helping with music", numerous participants are organising a children's festival on Saturday, 4 July 2015 from 3 p.m., followed by a charity concert at the AJZ, Chemnitztalstraße 54. The proceeds will benefit the school for the physically disabled in Chemnitz-Borna.
The youngest children can look forward to a bouncy castle, face painting, arts and crafts with Kulturhaus Arthur, drum making, a drumming course with Trommelbert and an exercise course organised by the children's sports school. Catering will be provided. There will be a cake bazaar and barbecued delicacies.
For the older ones, there will be music for the ears from 7 pm: Chemnitz rock music by SOLCHE, soulful German lyrics by the band TAM and electro and drum & bass by DJs such as Kevin Morris (MB Records-Karl-Marx-Stadt), Dou Quadro, Rudeboy Soundsystem, Daniel Wunderlich, Quest42/Fraktion42/TMX, DJ Kalaschnikow, Angel Dust aka Tannsen, DJ ok drums and MC Shaolin 42. By the way: The artists are waiving their fees for a good cause.
Background: The event is a response to three break-ins at the school for the physically disabled in Chemnitz-Borna last May. In addition to devastation and theft of property, the school's class registers and the contents of the school safe were lost. The money collected in the safe was supposed to be used for school trips and extracurricular activities and will not be refunded - now it is missing. For the children and their parents, this means the loss of valuable programmes.
Thanks to the commitment of volunteers, numerous artists, social clubs, culinary suppliers, sponsors and the parents' council, an idea by Franziska Schreiter and Jacob Böhme, teaching assistant at the school, is now being realised. The event is organised under the patronage of Regenbogenbus e.V.
