Helmholtz Centre conducts nationwide study on corona in Chemnitz
Invitation to the virtual press conference: 3 March, 4 p.m.
The Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research is currently conducting a nationwide coronavirus study in which Chemnitz is also involved.
On Wednesday, 3 March at 4 pm, Mayor Ralph Burghart is hosting a virtual press conference to present the project and its progress.
In addition to Mayor Ralph Burghart, representatives of the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research will also take part in the discussion.
Media representatives are requested to register by 4 p.m. on Monday, 1 March at pressestelle(at)stadt-chemnitz.de. You will then receive the access link in good time before the press conference.
The main aim of this study is to determine the proportion of the population that has antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 in their blood and is therefore likely to have already been infected with the virus. In addition, different age groups and self-reported symptoms of SARS-CoV-2 infection will be analysed. Up to 3,000 people are to be tested for this purpose.
From the region, the city of Chemnitz, the district of Erzgebirge, the district of Mittelsachsen and the district of Zwickau are supporting the study.
