PLEASE NOTE: The event has been cancelled due to the forecast weather conditions.
An alternative date is already being planned and is expected to take place in August.
The new date will be announced in good time.*
On Friday 12 June, from 9 am to 5 pm, the City of Chemnitz invites you to the ‘Healthy in the Park’ event in the Park of the Victims of Fascism. The event offers a wide range of opportunities to find out about local health services and get active yourself.
The morning programme from 9 am to 2 pm is primarily aimed at registered nursery and primary school groups. (Registration for organisations is now closed.)
In the afternoon, from 2 pm to 5 pm, anyone interested is warmly invited to take advantage of the activities on offer, chat with others and experience the park as a place for socialising, exercise and health promotion.
The action day is organised by the Chemnitz-Mitte Citizens’ Platform and the City Centre District Management in collaboration with the City of Chemnitz’s Department of Health and Prevention. The action day is part of the “Health in the Neighbourhood” funding programme. The aim of the project is to bring health promotion directly into the neighbourhoods, to network regional stakeholders and to raise awareness of low-threshold services for different target groups. At the same time, the aim is to strengthen public spaces as places for socialising, exercise and prevention.
A varied programme of hands-on activities has been prepared for the event in collaboration with various local organisations and partners. Visitors can look forward to, among other things, an outdoor fitness and agility course, creative craft activities, initiatives focusing on healthy eating, short health and coordination tests, and a smoothie bike.
The programme is complemented by numerous information and hands-on stands.
Two themed walks will also be offered. The ASB is organising an art walk through the park from the perspective of people with disabilities. Furthermore, Arbeit und Leben Sachsen e. V. is inviting people to join a participatory walk on the theme of ‘The OdF’s Lively Park’. Advance registration is required for both walks.
Further information on the programme and registration for the themed walks can be found at: www.chemnitz.de/gesund-im-park.
