Head of Protocol Reiner Gehlhar retires
His successor is Robert Frenzel from Chemnitz
Reiner Gehlhar, head of protocol at Chemnitz City Hall for many years, retired on Friday. For almost four decades, 39 years to be precise, he was responsible for protocol, town twinning and international relations.
"My heartfelt thanks to Reiner Gehlhar for his work and his tireless commitment," said Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig. "He has been a reliable contact person in the town hall for our twin towns throughout this time. But Reiner Gehlhar was also a reliable contact for many associations and institutions in our city, who could always rely on his support and organisational skills."
Robert Frenzel, born in 1982, has taken up his post as the new Head of Protocol. The business economist specialising in sports, event and marketing management moved from ERZI GmbH to the city administration. Frenzel lives with his family in Chemnitz.
