Handover of new vehicles to the fire brigade
Invitation to the photo session: 20 March, 10 a.m., Theaterplatz Chemnitz
On Saturday, 20 March at 10 a.m., Lord Mayor Sven Schulze will hand over four new vehicles to volunteer fire brigades in Chemnitz on Theaterplatz.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to this event.
The so-called auxiliary fire fighting vehicles (HLF) are intended for the volunteer fire brigades in Wittgensdorf, Einsiedel, Kleinolbersdorf-Altenhain and Röhrsdorf. The total cost of the vehicles is around 1.46 million euros. Of this amount, 516,000 euros will be subsidised by the Free State of Saxony.
The four old fire service vehicles have between 25 and 28 years of service under the bonnet. Two of the vehicles will be discarded. The other two will temporarily go to the volunteer fire brigade in Grüna and to the fire service technical centre for training purposes.
The new vehicles have modern equipment with hydraulic rescue equipment that is powered by rechargeable batteries instead of a complex hydraulic unit. They are also all equipped with a thermal imaging camera, a 1,600 litre water tank, a turn-off assistant, a hygiene board, a hose loop - a hose that is predestined for indoor operations in confined spaces - and a EURO 6-certified engine.
