Guided tours of Chemnitz "play spaces"

Chemnitz garden and landscape architects have once again prepared public tours of special areas for the 2013 season and cordially invite you to take part in the six programmes on offer. With this year's theme of "Play Spaces", the organisers want to show the range of playable spaces in the context of (also) urban landscapes and parks and are not only focusing on playgrounds in the strict sense, but also on the diversity of the topic of play.
There will be six guided tours. The dates are on the last Saturday of each month at 2 p.m., participation is free of charge - here is a preview:

Saturday, 27 April: Topic: Sportforum (1950-1989/90 Ernst-Thälmann-Stadion) - meeting point: main entrance Sportforum, Reichenhainer Straße.

Saturday, 25 May: Topic: Zeisigwald playground - meeting point: Forststraße entrance.

Saturday, 29 June: Topic: Park of the Victims of Fascism / Georgius-Agricola-Gymnasium - meeting point: main entrance Georgius-Agricola-Gymnasium.

After the summer break:

Saturday, 31 August: Topic: Klaffenbach golf course - Meeting point: terrace restaurant golf club.

Saturday, 28 September: Topic: School for the blind and visually impaired - meeting point: main entrance to the Chemnitz State School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Flemmingstraße.

Saturday, 26 October: Topic: Schauspielhaus - Meeting point: main entrance to the Schauspielhaus.

Garden tours have been organised by the Chemnitz garden and landscape architects since 2004 - the occasion was the 150th birthday of Otto Werner (1854-1923). The garden in the city park named after Otto Werner commemorates the work of the important city garden director in Chemnitz.
