On Friday, 7 February, from 4 to 6.15 p.m., interested parties are invited to take a guided tour of the Alte Aktienspinnerei in Chemnitz and get to know the building, its history and its current use.

When it was built in the middle of the 19th century, the Alte Aktienspinnerei Chemnitz was the largest cotton mill in Saxony and an important place in Saxony's industrial history. Since then, the building has not only been used as a spinning mill, but also in a variety of other ways. Since 2020, it has housed the central library and archive of Chemnitz University of Technology.
The building has not only made a lasting impression on the outside since its renovation (2014 to 2020). Inside, too, an imposing ensemble now opens up as a place of learning and research, but also of communication and encounter.
The project is co-financed by tax revenue on the basis of the budget approved by the Saxon state parliament.
