Grief takes time. And people who go with you.

Volunteer hospice helpers and bereavement counsellors wanted

Hospiz- und PalliativNetz_C is looking for hospice helpers, bereavement counsellors and interested people who are willing to undergo further training and who are able to accompany and actively support people in crisis situations.

Hospiz- und PalliativNetz_C was founded in January 2025. The network brings together representatives from institutions, services, companies, organisations and sponsors involved in hospice and palliative care in the city of Chemnitz.
It offers a contact and information point for people seeking help, organisations and services on the topics of dying, death, mourning and saying goodbye. The network also aims to provide support services and inform, sensitise and educate urban society. Among other things, low-threshold services for those affected are planned to expand the existing range of services for mourners.
This requires the support of volunteers.

Anyone interested should contact Hospiz- und PalliativNetz_C, telephone 0371 488 5552, e-mail: pflegenetz_c(at)stadt-chemnitz.de

When a loved one dies, many things are thrown out of balance. Grief can make you silent - or loud. Every grief is unique. There is no "right" way, but it helps not to have to go it alone.
On 11 November, the network will also be holding an information event on the topic of "Grief takes time". The event has been very well received - places are already fully booked.

A specialist lecture and the documentary film "Death is an asshole" about a Berlin funeral home are planned. This will be followed by a panel discussion with the film's protagonist Eric Wrede and regional experts from the network.

As there is a great deal of interest in this topic, further events are planned for the future.
