Green light for stadium construction - city assumes developer function
In today's consultation between the city, the Saxony State Directorate and the Ministry of the Interior on the approval of the stadium project, the next steps were agreed.
"As a result of the discussions, approval has been granted," says Lord Mayor Barbara Ludwig. "The city is assuming the role of developer and can also take over all the procedural steps carried out by GGG. This means that the realisation of the stadium project can continue without any major delays. And that is precisely the goal. I'm glad that we're making progress on the matter, because that's the crucial point for Chemnitz football."
The points in detail
- The city of Chemnitz takes on the role of building owner and takes out the loan of 25 million euros itself.
- This requires a supplementary budget. This will be submitted to the city council for a decision on 14 November 2012. The state directorate will finalise the approval procedure after three weeks at the latest.
- All other audit areas, such as the profitability comparison and non-profit status, have been completed by the state directorate. There are no objections.
- All previous procedural steps in preparation for the construction will be transferred to the city. The current procedural steps can be continued.
- This means that the prospect of approval by the state directorate is assured. Only little time will be lost. This does not jeopardise the licensing of the CFC in March 2013.
