Graffiti at the main railway station completed
Motifs show historical and current images of buses and trains
The entrance to the pedestrian tunnel to the main railway station on Dresdner Straße has been upgraded with large-scale graffiti. This was designed and realised by Rebel Art on behalf of the City of Chemnitz's civil engineering department.
Historical and contemporary motifs of buildings, buses and trains create a link between the long-distance bus terminal and the main railway station. The colour scheme is based on the colours of public transport, which will also be reflected in the interior of the new long-distance bus terminal.
Work began in autumn 2022 and was completed last week after the winter break.
The costs amount to around 20,000 euros. Graffiti protection was applied to protect the surfaces.
As the surfaces had been increasingly defaced by illegal graffiti in the past and their removal was also causing increasing costs, the professional design was arranged.
