Goes off like Schmitz's cat
Book launch on 17 December, 4 pm at the Museum für Naturkunde Chemnitz
Time for the family: Stephanie Brittnacher will be presenting her illustrated book "Geht ab wie Schmitz' Katze" at the Museum für Naturkunde Chemnitz for the 3rd Advent afternoon on 17 December at 4 pm. Admission costs 4 euros for adults, children and young people up to the age of 18 are admitted free of charge.
"Frauke Angel, actress and award-winning author from Dresden, and Chemnitz-based illustrator Stephanie Brittnacher humorously tell the story of mother Schmitz's strike from the son's point of view in "Geht ab wie Schmitz' Katze". From one day to the next, the father and children find themselves in an exceptional situation: no more food on the table, no fresh washing and an empty fridge. Mum makes herself comfortable in the garden and watches as the chaos in the family takes its course."
"The Schmitz family, that's us: Mum, Dad, the twins and me. Until the morning Schmitz's cat threw up in the kitchen, we were a normal family. Now we're famous. Everyone in town knows us. Even the pizza delivery man who visits Mum every day. Because mum doesn't cook anymore, not even with anger. Mum is on strike."
The illustrations accompany Schmitz's cat and show the spectacle from her point of view. For young and old - especially for children aged 5 and over.
