Girls'Day and Boys'Day at the City of Chemnitz
Offers for boys and girls - registrations are possible until 20 April
On Thursday, 27 April, the City of Chemnitz is inviting interested young people to gain an insight into various areas of work in the administration on this year's Girls' Day and Boys' Day.
Girls and boys can, for example, get to know and try out work as a mayor in the town hall, as an educator in the city's day-care centres, in the control centre of the public order office, in traffic monitoring or mobile speed enforcement. An overview of the wide range of job opportunities is available on the portals. Registrations can also be made there until 20 April.

Background:
On Girls' Day, administrations, companies, businesses and universities throughout Germany open their doors to schoolgirls from the 5th grade onwards. The girls get to know training occupations and study programmes in which women are rarely represented. Examples of this are the fields of IT, trades, natural sciences and technology. Boys also have a wide range of interests and strengths. However, when it comes to choosing a career, they often opt for traditional "male professions" such as automotive mechatronics technician or industrial mechanic. However, there are numerous other occupational fields in which male specialists and mentors are needed. For example, many young professionals are being sought in the social, educational or care sectors. Boys' Day is organised to give boys the opportunity to try out these professions too.
