Get involved for yourself, your project or for the city
Section awaits suggestions and ideas
Do you want to organise something? Are you still looking for hands, heads, nails or paint, do you need material or generous supporters? The motto is: "Imagine!"
With the ideas blog "Mitnischeln", which was launched as part of the communication campaign "Die Stadt bin ich", the initiators of the campaign and the people of Chemnitz want to create perhaps the largest notice board in the city.A "marketplace of ideas" that needs to be filled: creating your own ideas for the city, looking for like-minded people and being inspired by the ideas of others - that's what it's all about.
Approach
Present your idea to the people of Chemnitz at www.die-stadt-bin-ich under the heading "Mitnischeln" and use the comment function for discussions and evaluations. Associate fresh ideas with your name and get involved when others are looking for solutions for their neighbourhood. Or offer help when young projects need energetic doers. The editorial team - and this is new - will also raise questions here, present thought experiments and ask for criticism, suggestions or proposals for individual projects. What is important is the openness with which a colourful, lively and urban city is discussed here: "Get involved".
Projects that need to be filled with ideas:
Children wanted - ideas for baby box
Welcome to this world - welcome to Chemnitz: We are currently examining whether a small welcome gift for newborns in the city could meet with interest. We need the support of the people of Chemnitz.
What is considered appropriate for the birth of a child? A small gift, a birth letter or information material about the city's children's services?
All ideas and suggestions will be collected and analysed in the "Mitnischeln" section described above.
Green, yellow, red for wheelchair users
In Chemnitz, a participation plan is being drawn up to implement the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. It is about accessibility and equal participation in life in the city. All residents and visitors should feel comfortable here and be able to find their way around. This is why Chemnitz is also participating in "Wheelmap" and is asking for help at www.wheelmap.org.
Wheelmap is a worldwide map for searching and finding wheelchair-accessible places. Anyone can take part and mark publicly accessible places according to their wheelchair accessibility. For Chemnitz, many places still appear colourless - this could and should be changed with little effort.
Slips of paper wanted
One of the participants in the Chemnitz art and culture festival Begehungen from 14 - 17 August is Brandstifter from Germany. His art: making collages from paper he finds on the street, from receipts to handwritten notes. In Chemnitz, he is now looking for "supporters" to send him notes. His "Asphalt Library", as he calls it, is to be expanded to include a Chemnitz version. That's why he's asking for help. He is still looking for notes found by Chemnitz residents in public spaces.
Keyword "The city is me"
The people of Chemnitz are at the centre of the new communication concept. They describe their attitude to life, acknowledge the good aspects of their city and thus become ambassadors for a strong Chemnitz worth living in. The campaign advertises with the inviting motto "The city is me". This year, people in the city and surrounding area will be addressed first in order to jointly develop what is important for the city's identity and then, next year, to get Chemnitz talking outside the city. The online dialogue platform www.die-stadt-bin-ich.de and the associated Facebook page www.facebook.com/diestadtbinich are at the heart of the campaign.
