Centre for Evidence-based Healthcare surveys around 300 citizens
Around 300 people from Chemnitz are currently receiving mail from the scientific project "Health Panel Saxony" (GEPASA). As part of a large-scale, regular survey (known as a panel), researchers at the Centre for Evidence-Based Healthcare at the TU Dresden, Chemnitz Medical Campus branch, would like to survey representatively selected citizens. At regular intervals, researchers at the Centre for Evidence-Based Healthcare at the TU Dresden, Chemnitz Medical Campus branch, would like to survey representatively selected citizens on the following topics: perceived state of health, perceived burden of disease (particularly chronic diseases), perceived quality of healthcare and expectations of healthcare.
A representative selection of citizens in 48 municipalities, medium-sized towns and city districts in Saxony are regularly surveyed - including a good 300 citizens from Chemnitz. For this purpose, the residents' registration office has drawn a random sample in accordance with its legal mandate under §34 and §47 of the Federal Registration Act.
These citizens received a letter from the researchers at the Centre for Evidence-Based Healthcare containing a declaration of consent for voluntary participation in the regular survey and the questionnaire for the first survey phase. The letter also contains further information on the survey and contact details of the responsible persons in Chemnitz and Dresden.
The randomly selected people thus have the unique opportunity to describe their view of healthcare in their place of residence and thus make a contribution to future care.
Background to the project
Health and the continuous provision of healthcare and services of general interest close to home are demonstrably prerequisites for a high perceived quality of life. It is therefore necessary for the planning of healthcare and for regional development in Saxony as a whole to know both the population's perception of healthcare and their wishes and requirements of the healthcare system as well as possible. However, neither is currently systematically recorded and therefore not taken into account in healthcare planning. The researchers would like to change this.
