The garden tours have been organised and offered by the Chemnitz garden and landscape architects for 15 years; one of the initiators is Siegfried Weidlich from the City of Chemnitz Parks Department. The occasion in 2004 was the 150th birthday of Otto Werner (1854-1923): The garden named after him in the city park commemorates the work of the important city garden director in Chemnitz.
