Gaming? Of course!
Family offer in the city library on 11 February, from 2 to 5 pm
On Tuesday, 11 February, from 2 to 5 p.m., Chemnitz City Library and SAEK Chemnitz are presenting a joint gaming offer for families under the motto "Gaming? But safely!". Children and parents can try out a Nintendo Switch or Playstation4 console together in the children's library, solve a quiz about gaming and win small prizes. SAEK Chemnitz will also be giving tips on how to deal with digital media in the family. Admission is free.
The event takes place on the occasion of the international Safer Internet Day. This has been organised annually since 2004 by Klick Safe, an initiative of the European Commission.
The Chemnitz City Library regularly organises gaming afternoons where children and young people can test console games together under the supervision of library staff.
The next highlight is a Rocket League tournament where gamers can compete against each other in teams of two. The tournament will take place on Thursday, 27 February, 2 to 5 p.m., in the youth area of the Central Library.
Other gaming afternoons:
13 February - for teenagers aged 12 and over, in the youth library
20 February - for children aged 6 and over, in the children's library
The consoles will be available for interested parties from 2 to 5 pm. Gaming is offered every fortnight in the youth library.
