Gablenz outdoor pool closed after accident
No chemicals leaked, no persons affected - Swimming season continues at the Einsiedel and Wittgensdorf pools
At the Gablenz outdoor pool, the warning devices of the system responsible for dosing the chemicals signalled an accident at midday today, as a result of which the pool had to be evacuated as a precautionary measure in accordance with the prescribed procedure in such cases.
This accident, which the initial investigation revealed to be a technical fault, did not result in any chemicals escaping. No persons' health was affected. The measures prescribed for this incident, including evacuation by the pool staff, worked quickly and smoothly.
The system will be repaired in the coming days, including a thorough inspection of all system components and safety equipment. As the bathing weather is only expected to last until the end of the week, this year's outdoor pool season in Gablenz will unfortunately have to come to an end.
Swimmers can still use the outdoor pools in Einsiedel and Wittgensdorf until next Friday if the weather is favourable. The Rabenstein reservoir is also still open.
