35 students from the Czech Republic and Poland will be welcomed by the EU Office of the City of Chemnitz on Wednesday, 5 June 2019 at 9 a.m. in the City Council Chamber of the City Hall. The young people are visiting the Technical University as part of the annual taster week organised by the German Schools Abroad and Partner Schools (BIDS) support initiative.

Representatives of the media are cordially invited to this event.

The aim of the taster week is to present the city and the university, to make the study conditions tangible and to inspire the girls and boys to study in Chemnitz. The programme also includes attending lectures and exchanging experiences with international students. Chemnitz University of Technology also awards two BIDS motivation scholarships to Czech and Polish students.

During their visit to the town hall, the young people learn about the city of Chemnitz and its work in the EU area and playfully explore the topic of Europe. Finally, they take a tour of the historic building.
