Future Package programme starts with first round of discussions
Pupils meet city councillors: on 3 April, 3 pm, City Hall, Grüner Salon
On Monday, 3 April at 3 pm, young Chemnitz residents will meet members of Chemnitz City Council in the town hall (Grüner Salon). As part of the federal programme "Future Package for Culture, Exercise and Health", they will have the opportunity to play an active role in urban society.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to the public discussion.
The young people want to explain what they think is necessary in order to "grow up and learn healthily in the city". They will be supported by independent youth welfare organisations and in particular the F.-A.-W.-Diesterweg secondary school and the democracy group at the Untere Luisenschule.
In the public discussion, the pupils want to explain their views on the submitted topics of environmental education and waste separation in schools directly to the city councillors.
During the discussion, the young people want to find out why more is needed than just waste separation systems in schools. They are hoping for the support of the city councillors to realise their ideas.
Federal programme Future Package for Physical Activity, Culture and Health
The Future Package for Physical Activity, Culture and Health is a programme of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMFSFJ). It is implemented by the Gesellschaft für soziale Unternehmensberatung (gsub) and the SPI Foundation. The German Children and Youth Foundation (DKJS) is responsible for the "Child and Youth Participation in the Future Package" part of the programme.
