Funding report for 2013 published: Diverse funding documented in the past year

The grants report for the past year was published on the participatory platform of the participatory budget. It presents all municipal grants to associations, clubs and third parties, broken down by topic and grant recipient. These are funds from the municipal budget that are granted for purposes that are in the public interest.

The approximately €15 million in grants include, for example, the promotion of culture, sport and youth work, as well as town twinning projects and the Local Action Plan for Democracy, Tolerance and a Cosmopolitan Chemnitz. The largest blocks of funding include the Office for Youth and Family Affairs with 8 million euros, sports funding with 2.15 million euros and the work of the Cultural Office with 1.9 million euros.

For example, 15 school get-togethers, film projects in connection with the children's film festival "Schlingel" and events such as the "Begehungen" and the "Days of Jewish Culture" are supported. In addition, the diverse work in the city and neighbourhoods is also supported, including a children's festival organised by the fire brigade in Euba and the 750th anniversary celebrations in Reichenbrand.
