Funding report 2020 published

The City of Chemnitz's 2020 Grants Report has been published. In it, all city grants to associations, clubs and third parties are presented retrospectively by topic and grant recipient. The grants are funds from the city budget that are approved for purposes that are in the public interest.

For example, projects such as the conversion of the property at Bernsdorfer Straße 120 into a daycare centre by an independent provider, the operation of the Neue Sächsische Galerie and the Kraftwerk socio-cultural centre as well as the citizens' platforms in the individual areas of the city were implemented. However, preventative programmes in the health sector and Capital of Culture measures such as NIMM PLATZ are also included in the funding report.

In total, the report covers 26.6 million euros with more than 1000 individual measures. The main focus is on funding from the Office for Youth and Family Affairs with 12.9 million euros, cultural funding with 3.7 million euros, sports funding with 3.3 million euros and specialised funding from the Social Welfare Office for Youth, Social Affairs and Health with 2.2 million euros.
