Funding report 2018 published
The 2018 Grants Report of Chemnitz City Council has been published. It summarises all city grants to associations, clubs and third parties by topic and grant recipient. The grants are funds from the city budget that are approved for purposes that are in the public interest.
For example, projects of the city sports association, the expansion of daycare centres run by independent providers, open youth social work and school social work as well as the staging of the U20 European Basketball Championship in Chemnitz, projects as part of the Capital of Culture application and the city's 875th anniversary could be implemented.
In total, the report covers 26.1 million euros with over 1000 individual measures. This represents an increase of almost 2.5 million euros compared to the previous year. The main focus is on the funding of the Office for Youth and Family Affairs with 16 million euros, sports funding with 2.3 million euros, cultural funding with 3 million euros and the specialised funding of the Social Welfare Office for Youth, Social Affairs and Health with 2.1 million euros.
