Funding report 2017 published
The Chemnitz City Council's funding report is being published for the sixth time in a row. In it, all city grants to associations, clubs and third parties for 2017 are presented retrospectively by topic and grant recipient. The grants are funds from the city budget that are approved for such purposes and are in the public interest.
The report covers a total of 23.6 million euros with around 700 individual measures. This represents an increase of almost 4.2 million euros compared to the previous year. The main focus here is on funding from the Office for Youth and Family Affairs with 14.4 million euros, sports funding with 2.6 million euros, cultural funding with 2.6 million euros and specialised funding from the Social Welfare Office for Youth, Social Affairs and Health with 2 million euros.
For example, projects of the city sports association, the expansion of daycare centres run by independent providers, open youth social work and school social work as well as the operation of the Neue Sächsische Galerie, the socio-cultural centre
"Kraftwerk" socio-cultural centre, the cosmonaut centre, the games museum and the citizens' radio station at Radio T.
