Funding for the removal of barriers

Chemnitz residents called upon to nominate their seats

A year ago, the Free State of Saxony began promoting targeted measures to create accessibility and thus the creation of many "favourite places for everyone".

This investment programme is aimed at both non-profit and commercial operators of leisure, cultural, sports and medical facilities. For structural changes
(e.g. ramps for wheelchair users and pushchair users) and also for special equipment (e.g. induction systems for the hearing impaired), a grant of up to 100 per cent is awarded for costs of up to EUR 25,000.

Due to its great success across the country, the programme was relaunched in 2015 and is also planned for subsequent years. As there was little time between the announcement of the funding programme and the application deadline in the past, all eligible applicants should be given the opportunity to apply for the 2016 programme now.
