Full closure of Barbarossastrasse due to pipeline construction

From 28 July to 14 November, Barbarossastraße will be fully closed between Limbacher Straße and Uhlichstraße.

Drinking water and gas pipes are being installed on behalf of inetz GmbH and eins energie. The work will be carried out in two construction phases with full road closures.

Traffic will be diverted via Limbacher Straße - Franz-Mehring-Straße - Weststraße. The diversion route is best suited for regular bus services due to its proximity to the existing route and replacement bus stops have been provided.

Mobile traffic lights for the diversion traffic will be installed at the intersections Limbacher Straße/Barbarossastraße, Franz-Mehring-Straße/Limbacher Straße, Weststraße/Franz-Mehring-Straße and Barbarossastraße/Weststraße.

In addition, stopping restrictions will be put in place on one side of Franz-Mehring-Straße between Limbacher Straße and Weststraße in the direction of Weststraße from Tuesday, 28 July, 7 a.m. Residents are asked for their understanding and attention. The full road closure is scheduled to begin at 9 am.

During the first few days of the diversion, traffic will be monitored and, if necessary, traffic lights will be adjusted and traffic signage added.

Depending on traffic developments, a decision will also be made as to whether the parking regulations on Barbarossastrasse can be changed from pavement parking (half/full) to parking on the carriageway during the period of the full closure in order to gain additional parking spaces.

Information on the construction work can be obtained from eins energie.
