From fake facts to true facts

Adult education centre: Lecture on conspiracy narratives on 13 October, from 7 to 8.30 pm, online

On Thursday, 13 October, from 7 to 8.30 pm, interested parties are invited to the online lecture "From Fake Facts to True Facts - What really helps against conspiracy narratives".

Participation is free of charge. Registration is possible until Thursday, 13 October at 12 noon via the direct link www.vhs-chemnitz.de/kurs/W221M102. Access data will be sent by email at least three hours before the event begins.

In her online lecture, political scientist Katharina Nocun will present what she has researched into the arguments of conspiracy supporters and published in her books "Fake Facts" and "True Facts". She also gives tips on how to help conspiracy supporters in your own environment to break out of their closed world view.

The following questions are also explored in depth: Why do so many people believe in conspiracy myths? What factors play a role on a psychological level? And how do we discuss with people who believe they have discovered a hidden "truth"?

The event is a co-operation between the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung and the Chemnitz Adult Education Centre. It is part of the project "trau.schau.wem? faktenfest und mediensicher" and is funded by the Saxon State Media Authority (SLM).
