French ambassador visits Chemnitz

The Ambassador of the Republic of France, Anne-Marie Descôtes, will be visiting Chemnitz next Monday, 17 February. She will be accompanied by Dr Harald Langenfeld, French Honorary Consul in Leipzig.
Mayor Barbara Ludwig will also welcome the ambassador to the town hall in the afternoon. Representatives of the media are cordially invited to a photo opportunity in the Wandelhalle at 2.45 pm.
The morning programme includes a visit to the special exhibition "Paris 1930: Photography of the Avant-Garde" and an exchange of views with various discussion partners on the bid to become European Capital of Culture. There will also be a lunch with representatives of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and Chemnitz companies. A visit to the Saxon Textile Research Institute (SFTI) will round off the visit to Chemnitz in the afternoon.
Anne-Marie Descôtes has been France's ambassador to Germany since 6 June 2017. She previously worked at the French Permanent Representation to the EU and then for many years in various roles at the French Foreign Ministry in Paris, including as Head of the General Department for Globalisation, Culture, Education and International Development, where she was responsible for the Alliance française and Institut français networks.
