Free access to digital services of the Chemnitz City Library
Chemnitz City Library would like to help make the restrictions in everyday life that everyone is currently facing a little more bearable and avoid boredom.
For this reason, all Chemnitz residents who are not yet customers of the city library will be able to access the Chemnitz City Library's digital services free of charge from now until the end of the library's closure period.
The services are available at:
http://www.stadtbibliothek-chemnitz.de/online-angebote.html
The following can register:
- Interested parties who do not yet have a customer card from the city library.
- Children and young people. Parental consent is not required in writing.
And this is how it works:
Register by sending an e-mail to information(at)stadtbibliothek-chemnitz.de with the following details:
- Surname
- First name
- Date of birth
- Street, house number, postcode and town
- e-mail address
In response to your registration, the city library will send you your access data (customer number and password) by e-mail.
Anyone interested can read e-books and audio books in the Onleihe, stream films on filmfriend or use the e-learning courses.
Pupils will find valuable databases such as the Munzinger information service, Duden-Basiswissen Schule and other reference works for currently necessary homeschooling among our online services. With the Genios database, you can search hundreds of newspapers and magazines for current topics and articles.
Also important for parents: As loans and reservations are only possible online, there are no late fees, reminder fees or reservation fees.
TIP!
There is also a BibCast on YouTube that explains what there is to read and discover online: https://youtu.be/drOQaTVU6s8
The BibCast currently has three episodes. In the podcast and videocast, employees report on the latest news from the library and provide insights into the library's work. Story time is planned for the next episodes - to listen to at home.
