Frankenberg roads between Ebersdorfer Höhe and the end of the town

From next Monday, 26 June, until probably 28 July, Frankenberger Straße will be closed between Ebersdorfer Höhe and the outskirts of Chemnitz due to construction work. This was originally planned as a half-sided closure (see press release no. 40 from 25 January 2017), but now has to take place as a full closure, as a half-sided closure no longer meets the required safety distance between moving traffic and the construction company/civil engineering workers during the construction work in accordance with the statutory provisions of the Workplace Directive.

A wide diversion will be in place via Dresdner Straße, as there is no other efficient diversion route in the immediate vicinity. The diversion is signposted.

The condition of the 240 metre section of Frankenberger Straße shows numerous signs of damage, including cracks, unevenness and inadequate patching. The new carriageway will be constructed with an asphalt binder course and a low-noise asphalt surface course.

The construction work is scheduled to take six weeks and will cost around 213,000 euros. The measure is being financed as part of the Bridges to the Future programme

The company EBG Bau, Ehrenfriedersdorf, was commissioned to carry out the construction work.
