Fourth Saxon Sustainability Conference and presentation of the Hans Carl von Carlowitz Sustainability Award

The fourth Saxon Sustainability Conference on 28 October from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at Chemnitz Opera House will focus on biodiversity and renewable energies. This year's Hans von Carlowitz Sustainability Award goes to two prominent prizewinners. Firstly, to Dirk Steffens: the well-known journalist, wildlife filmmaker, presenter and environmental activist is also an ambassador for the international environmental organisation WWF; and secondly, to Dr Kandeh K. Yumkella: the agricultural economist from Sierra Leone was Director-General of the UN Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) from 2005 to 2013 and is the UN's Special Representative for Renewable Energy.
Media representatives are invited to a press conference on Thursday, 29 September 2016, 2 p.m., in the town hall, room 118.
The Chairman of the Board, Dr Dieter Füsslein, and other representatives of the Sächsische Carlowitz Gesellschaft e.V., will present the fourth Saxon Sustainability Conference and be available to answer questions.
The conference is a joint project of the Sächsische Carlowitz Gesellschaft e. V., the City of Chemnitz and Chemnitz University of Technology. It is sponsored by the Free State of Saxony.
