Fourth dream concert
On 6 November, 7 pm in the Great Hall of the Chemnitz City Hall For journalists: Rehearsal on 2 November, 3.30 pm, House 4 of Flemmingstraße 8
"You don't have to be able to read lyrics, see or touch sheet music or instruments or hear rhythm to make music in a dreamlike way."
On Monday, 6 November at 7 pm, it's that time again. The 4th Dream Concert will be performed in the Great Hall of Chemnitz City Hall. Young artists with and without disabilities from Chemnitz and the surrounding area will perform a unique evening of music with representatives of the Robert Schumann Philharmonic Orchestra.
The Dream Concert takes place every two years and is constantly growing: in the performances of the young artists, the number of enthusiastic spectators and also the accessibility of the artistic enjoyment.
Since 2011, translations of the speeches and music into sign language have been an integral part of the programme. This year, for the first time, there will also be live audio description for visually impaired people in the audience.
All eligible guests at the Dream Concert will receive the necessary headphones on site (for a deposit) and are asked to register at info(at)weisser-stock.org.
This is also the first time that the City of Chemnitz and the Bürgerstiftung für Chemnitz are jointly organising the Dream Concert. In the tenth year of its existence, the foundation took on the responsibility for financing and acquired possible funding from the Free State of Saxony.
Since its inception, the Dream Concert has been organised in close cooperation between the City of Chemnitz's Disability Officer, the Municipal Music School, Chemnitz City Hall, Chemnitz Municipal Theatre and the ensemble directors.
Tickets for the Dream Concert are available from the Tourist Information ticket service and online HERE
