Fountains in the city are bubbling again

This year, the fountain season started again with the commissioning of the fountain at the castle pond. By 7 June, the other 19 fountains in the Chemnitz city area will be bubbling successively.

For the 2021 financial year, 90,000 euros have been set aside in the municipal budget for the maintenance of the fountains. 16 of the fountains mentioned are managed by the supplier inetz GmbH on the basis of a service contract. In addition to the maintenance and management of the fountains, companies and associations also sponsor contributions in kind and in cash.


Three of the fountains mentioned are operated via sponsorship:

  • Sprudelstein Grüna - sponsored by Heimatverein Grüna
  • Fountain at the market hall (Seeberplatz) - sponsored by REAL Vermögen
  • Saxonia fountain - sponsored by the Kellnberger company


Warranty defects still need to be rectified on the fountain at Brühl. Commissioning may therefore be delayed.
