Former Chemnitz resident of Jewish faith signs the city's Golden Book

Miriam Brookfield was born in Chemnitz, but fled with her parents to exile in Shanghai during the Nazi era because she was persecuted for her Jewish faith. The Jewish woman, who now lives in California, is returning to her roots on 25 February. She will be visiting Chemnitz for a week.
Mayor Barbara Ludwig has invited Miriam Brookfield to her regularly scheduled press conference on 26 February at 2 pm. She will sign the city's Golden Book, as many Jewish citizens from Chemnitz have done before her.
Media representatives are cordially invited to attend. The press conference will take place in the town hall, Grüner Salon .
In addition to the visit with the Lord Mayor, Miriam Brookfield has planned to meet with young people from the Jewish community on 27 February and to talk about her time in Shangai in the art collections on 28 February at 6 pm.
