"Forest ants" out and about with foresters and hunters
Young "forest ants" from the municipal daycare centre of the same name in the Chemnitz district of Kleinolbersdorf-Altenhain, accompanied by parents and educators, will meet on Saturday (8 February) at 10 a.m. in the car park at Ferdinandstraße 149 for an active family day supervised by foresters and hunters, which will also take them through the "forest and meadows". Girls and boys from the daycare centre want to show what they have already learned on the regular forest excursions organised by the daycare centre and at the same time learn lots of new and exciting "insider" information about the forest and local animals.
Representatives of the media are cordially invited to take part in the excursion.
According to daycare centre manager Marita Gechert, the joint adventure day is one of the highlights for the girls and boys as an essential building block in the area of science education. "Together with parents and carers, the children spend an enjoyable and exciting learning time in nature," explains the head of the daycare centre. "Knowledge and good observation skills will be in demand on our tour, and of course there will also be some surprises for the young participants." The "Waldameisen" family day will end at around 12 noon on Saturday with a barbecue and some tasty refreshments.
