For Children's Day: Playground at the moated castle reopens
Start of construction for the Lessingplatz facility next week
On Children's Day, the time has finally come: the newly designed play and leisure area at Klaffenbach moated castle will be opened by the Klaffenbach local council on Sunday at 11.00 a.m. as planned.
During a six-week construction period, the play area, which had been closed for safety reasons, was demolished, two new climbing structures were erected and the edge of the fall protection area was fitted with new wooden planks. The construction work was carried out by Massiv- & Industriebau GmbH, Amtsberg. The City of Chemnitz invested around 72,500.00 euros in the construction work.
At the same time, construction work on the Lessingplatz play and leisure centre is scheduled to start next week. In the first construction phase, the two dilapidated pieces of play equipment (play equipment combination and double swing) in the play oval will be dismantled and replaced with new equipment of the same quality.
Completion of the play area is scheduled for 20 July 2014. The construction work will be carried out by the company Garten- & Landschaftsbau Gert Findeklee, Röhrsdorf. The construction costs amount to around 33,400.00 euros.
