Folk ensemble from Leeds visits Chemnitz
Joint performance with pupils from the municipal music school on 26 August at the town festival and on 24 August in the concert hall of the music school
A joint concert by the British folk ensemble "Roots alive" from Leeds and the band "Rock'n'Strings" from the Chemnitz Municipal Music School will take place at the city festival next weekend. British folk music and rock music with a flattering string sound will be played.
The concert starts on Sunday 26 August at 6 pm on the Brückenstraße stage.
Prior to this, there will be an informal concert on Friday 24 August at 5 pm in the hall of the Municipal Music School. Admission is free.
The lively folk ensemble "Roots alive" from Leeds, Great Britain, is visiting the Municipal Music School. The nine young people, aged between 15 and 19, are spending a week in Chemnitz. The young guest musicians will stay with host families and make music with pupils from the Municipal Music School's band.
A trip to Dresden is also planned for the young visitors from Leeds, as well as an insight into the history of the earth at the excavation site on the Sonnenberg in Chemnitz and a tour of the SMAC.
A return visit by pupils from the Municipal Music School to Leeds is planned for spring 2019.
