The Chemnitz Hydrogen Alliance organised its third annual network meeting this week. Around 50 representatives from companies, research organisations and institutions came together at Kraftverkehr Chemnitz to discuss current developments and challenges in the field of hydrogen.
The event focussed on the topic of network infrastructure for hydrogen. The discussions clearly showed that the establishment of efficient and sustainable networks is a key prerequisite for the successful development of the hydrogen economy. In addition to technical aspects, regulatory framework conditions and opportunities for cooperation were also discussed.
The dual importance of hydrogen as an energy source and value creation potential for the regional economy is also reflected in the Hydrogen Innovation Centre HIC, which is being established as the national location of the Innovation and Technology Centre of the Federal Ministry of Transport not far from the Reichenhainer Straße campus. At the same time, the Hydrogen World Grand Prix will take place in the motor transport centre, where young people will compete against each other in thrilling races with self-built, remote-controlled hydrogen-powered vehicles.
Silvana Bergk, Head of the City of Chemnitz's Department of Economic Affairs: "We are delighted about the great interest in the Chemnitz Hydrogen Alliance. The high level of participation shows that the regional economy is willing to play an active role in shaping a sustainable hydrogen future."
The Chemnitz Hydrogen Alliance is aimed at companies that would like to get involved in the regional hydrogen strategy - whether through membership, project cooperation or professional exchange.
