On 20 April 2016, the Museum für Naturkunde will host a colourful lecture at 6.30 pm in the Neue Sächsische Galerie in the TIETZ, Moritzstraße 20. The magnificent crystal fluorite is the topic of the lecture and will be presented in all its forms by speaker Paul Rustemeyer. Admission is free.

The mineral fluorite delights with a variety of colours and sometimes also with special shapes. Participants will learn about the structure and properties of fluorite and find out how the striking colours are created using selected example crystals. Paul Rustemeyer will also show how incredible combinations and phenomena develop in the course of crystal growth.

Paul Rustemeyer has been collecting special fluorites for 30 years and has taken photos of unusual and magnificent fluorite crystals in museum and private collections.
