Flood defence work in Harthau

Change in traffic routing during the full closure of the B 95 from 14 June

The second phase of construction work for flood protection in Harthau begins on Friday, 14 June. In the first phase, the landward section of Annaberger Straße from Alte Harth to the Am Harthauer Bahnhof access road was built. This section will now be put into operation on 14 June. In the second phase, which is now beginning, the section of Annaberger Straße from house 477 to the junction with Alte Harth will be built. This section must be fully closed. Through traffic is not possible. During this phase, Alte Harth can only be reached from the landward direction. The Am Harthauer Bahnhof/Stöcklstraße area will be connected to Annaberger Straße via the new bridge at the start of the second phase and will also only be accessible from the landward direction. The familiar diversion routes for Annaberger Straße via Südring, Wolgograder Allee and Chemnitzer Straße will remain in place.

From April 2018 until October 2019, flood protection work will be carried out in Harthau along Annaberger Straße between Alte Harth and Klaffenbacher Straße on behalf of the Saxon State Reservoir Administration (LTV), the utility company eins energie and the city of Chemnitz. As part of this project, new embankment walls and a new bridge over the Würschnitz are being built and extensive new and re-routed pipes are being laid. At the same time, the alignment of Annaberger Straße at the junction of Alte Harth will be redesigned so that the tight curve radius will no longer exist in future and visibility will be improved.

The project has a total cost of 5.1 million euros, of which the city's share is 1.97 million euros.
