Flood defence work in Harthau

Full closure of the B95 must be extended until 13 September

The full closure of Annaberger Straße in Harthau (B95), originally announced for Friday, 30 August, has had to be postponed by two weeks until Friday, 13 September. This is due to more extensive pipework being laid by the utility companies and additional house connections. In order to ensure the school route in the confined space and to guarantee room to manoeuvre for the construction equipment, it is not possible to close one side of the road for the upcoming work. We ask for your understanding in this regard.

The diversion routes will continue to be via Südring, Wolgograder Allee and Chemnitzer Straße.

Subsequently, in the period from 16 September to 4 October 2019, traffic on Annaberger Straße in Harthau (B95) will still be one-way with traffic lights. During this time, paving work will be carried out in the area of the access road to the petrol station and the adjacent pavements. The neighbouring green areas will also be created.

From April 2018 until October 2019, flood protection work will be carried out along Annaberger Straße between Alte Harth and Klaffenbacher Straße in Harthau on behalf of the Saxony State Reservoir Administration (LTV), the utility company eins energie and the city of Chemnitz. As part of this project, new embankment walls and a new bridge over the Würschnitz are being built and extensive pipes are being relocated and newly laid. At the same time, the alignment of Annaberger Straße at the junction of Alte Harth will be redesigned so that the tight bend radius will no longer exist in future and visibility will be improved.

The project has a total cost of 5.1 million euros, of which the city's share is 1.97 million euros.
