First survey among young Chemnitz residents begins
Responses are anonymous - participation is voluntary
In the coming week, the City of Chemnitz will launch an online survey among young Chemnitz residents on their views of the city as a social and personal centre of life and business location. The aim of this survey is to analyse for the first time the reasons why young people decide to continue their lives here or elsewhere when they complete their education and enter working life.
The reason for this is the city of Chemnitz's population forecast from last year, which showed, among other things, that young Chemnitz residents in particular are leaving the city in large numbers.
For this reason, 6,000 residents in the 16 to 20 age group were randomly selected from the residents' register for the survey and will receive a letter from the Mayor of Chemnitz this week. In this letter, they will be given an access code with which they can start the survey online at www.chemnitz.de/jugendbefragung. It takes about 15 minutes to answer the questions. It is anonymous and participation is voluntary.
The questions are, for example: "Do you see your professional career in Chemnitz or in another city?", "What is your view of Chemnitz as a place to live and work?" or "Would you like to stay in Chemnitz in the next few years?".
The summarised results are expected to be published in the second quarter of this year once the survey has been completed.
