On Saturday, 12 July, from 10 am to 4 pm, interested parties of all ages are invited to the first Children's Summer Festival in the Botanical Garden, Leipziger Straße 147. Children, families and other interested parties can look forward to a colourful programme for the palate, eyes, ears and nose.
Visitors can get up close and personal with dogs, ponies and alpacas. Two guided tours will explain which other animals have their home in the botanical garden and how they live there. The ability of our noses to explore the diversity of the plant world olfactorily can be tested in a nose challenge.
A hobby horsing competition is also planned, for which registration by e-mail at botanischergarten(at)stadt-chemnitz.de is required. There will also be face painting for children, a plant sale and a flea market.
The event is organised and managed by the Botanical Garden's Friends' Association.
