Female lynx arrives at wildlife enclosure
Invitation to the photo session on 7 December, 8.45 a.m.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, the new female lynx arrives at the Chemnitz wildlife park. The animal will be released into the quarantine enclosure immediately after her arrival at around 9am.
Media representatives are cordially invited to attend.
The meeting point is 8.45 am at the entrance to the game reserve in Oberrabenstein.
The new female lynx was born in 2015 and comes from the Bavarian Forest National Park. After the female lynx has been released from the transport crate, she will initially have visual contact with the 13-year-old male lynx in the quarantine enclosure. This will allow the two animals to get to know each other at a distance. The previous female died in August at the age of 16.
Dr Peggy Riedel, vet and curator at Chemnitz Zoo, and animal keeper Frank Patzsch are on site as contact persons and will be happy to answer any further questions about the lynxes.
