Federal volunteers meet European volunteers at the town hall

On Tuesday, 10 May, the EU Coordinator of the City of Chemnitz, Pia Sachs, will welcome ten federal volunteers from Chemnitz and the surrounding area as well as four participants in the European Solidarity Corps. The aim of the meeting is to provide information about the city's history and European work.
Representatives of the media are invited to a photo opportunity in the Green Salon in the town hall at 9.30 am.
After a presentation on the city and its European work, there will be a guided tour of the town hall to provide insights into its history. The volunteers from Chemnitz and Europe will also have the opportunity to socialise and exchange experiences about their various services and their life in Chemnitz.
The young Europeans come from Turkey, Latvia, Armenia and Spain. They perform their service in various facilities of solaris Förderzentrum für Jugend und Umwelt gGmbH Sachsen.
The federal volunteers, aged between 18 and 60, work in socio-cultural institutions in Chemnitz such as the Subbotnik and the Fritz Theater as well as in social institutions such as the Kita am Steinberg, the Punktwest children's and youth centre and the DRK clothing store. The volunteers and the volunteer centres are supervised and supported by the Kindervereinigung Sachsen e.V..
