Federal, state and local authorities continue to support democracy projects in 2021

Submission of applications for project funding by 8 March - Online information event on funding, participation and co-design on 21 January

In 2021, initiatives, associations, groups and individuals who are committed to a democratic, tolerant and cosmopolitan Chemnitz will once again be supported. The City of Chemnitz, the Free State of Saxony and the federal government are once again providing funding for this through the federal "Live Democracy!" programme.

Applications for funding for measures that are committed to a democratic, cosmopolitan Chemnitz can be submitted until 8 March 2021. In 2021, 80,000 euros will be available from municipal budget funds (subject to confirmation of the budget), 125,000 euros in federal funds from the "Live Democracy!" funding programme and 50,000 euros from the Free State of Saxony.

Initiatives, associations, groups and individuals who wish to participate in the implementation of the local strategy will be supported. Grants of up to 10,000 euros can be applied for to implement the projects. Project proposals should serve to implement measures that are aligned with the content of the valid target pyramid.

The online information event will take place on 21 January 2021. Registrations at: koordinierungsstelleLAP(at)stadt-chemnitz.de

In this context, we would once again like to thank all the committed Chemnitz residents who stood up for democracy and an open-minded Chemnitz in 2020. More than 30 measures could be supported under the difficult conditions.
