Federal, state and local authorities continue to support democracy projects in 2020
Information event on funding, participation and co-design on 8 January, 4 p.m. - Applications for project funding can be submitted until 3 February
In 2020, initiatives, associations, groups and individuals who are committed to a democratic, tolerant and cosmopolitan Chemnitz will once again be supported. The City of Chemnitz, the Free State of Saxony and the federal government are once again providing funding for this through the federal "Live Democracy!" programme.
3 February 2020 is the closing date for applications for the funding of measures that are committed to a democratic, cosmopolitan Chemnitz. In 2020, grants of 80,000 euros are available from municipal budget funds, 125,000 euros in federal funds from the "Live Democracy!" funding programme and 10,000 euros from the Free State of Saxony. Support is available for initiatives, associations, groups and individuals who wish to participate in the implementation of the local strategy. Grants of up to 10,000 euros can be applied for to implement the projects.
Project proposals should serve to implement measures that are aligned with the content of the valid target pyramid (see attachment).
The information event will take place on 8 January 2020 from 4 pm in the Bürgerhaus Am Wall, training room 4th floor. Afterwards, the Saxon State Ministry for Equality and Integration (SMGI) will present the "Weltoffenes Sachsen" funding programme and the current changes. In this context, we would once again like to thank all committed Chemnitz residents who worked to promote democracy and a cosmopolitan Chemnitz in 2019. Over 40 measures were supported.
