"Favourite places for all" investment programme enters its fourth round
The Saxon investment programme "Favourite places for all" is expected to be launched for the fourth time next year. This means that businesses and non-profit organisations in particular will receive generous funding for the removal of barriers and for easily accessible and usable facilities - whether in the fields of culture, sport, leisure or medicine.
Construction measures up to 25,000 euros or appropriate equipment are covered up to 100 per cent. This applies in every district and independent city in Saxony.
Chemnitz again expects a funding volume of around 176,000 euros in 2017 and promises simple procedures for application and utilisation.
Information on this can already be obtained and applications submitted at the Social Welfare Office, Department for Assistance for the Elderly and Disabled/Local Care Authority.

The "Favourite places for all" programme has already funded many projects, e.g:
- Küchwaldbühne: Creation of barrier-free access including lighting, subsequent creation of disabled parking spaces and parking spaces for wheelchair users in the audience area
- Sachsofon restaurant: creating barrier-free access and ensuring barrier-free use of the beer garden
- Canteen: development of an electronic guidance system as an orientation aid for blind and visually impaired people
- Ice sports complex: Creation of barrier-free access to the training hall and installation of a barrier-free WC in the competition hall
- Wittgensdorf dental practice: purchase of a stair lift
- Rabenstein church: creation of a barrier-free entrance, procurement of a hearing system
- Glösa pharmacy: creation of barrier-free access using a stair lift (in conjunction with a ramp and levelling of the floor)
- Medical centre with pharmacy in Siegmar: construction of barrier-free access using a ramp
- German SPIELEmuseum: provision of multimedia equipment
- CFC stadium: purchase of an audio description system for match reports for blind and visually impaired people
- Cafeteria ASB residential centre: Electric door opener (swing door drive) for the outside door for barrier-free access
- SMAC: Production of information material in plain language
- Municipal theatre: Purchase of an audio description system
