Fathers on parental leave
Adult education centre: Online lecture on 8 March, 5 p.m.
On Tuesday, 8 March, International Women's Day, from 5 to 6.30 pm, the adult education centre invites (expectant) fathers and mothers to an online event on the topic of "Parental leave for fathers".
Participation is free of charge. Registration is possible until 12 noon on the day of the event at www.vhs-chemnitz.de or by telephone on 0371 488 4343. After registration, the access link will be sent by e-mail.
The presentation will deal with the organisational options for parents as well as state financial benefits, insurance issues and legal claims.
But the numerous opportunities and possibilities that arise in this new phase of life will also be addressed on this evening: family ties, relief, new opportunities for the mother, spending time with the family (work-life balance), travelling together or time for reflection and reorientation.
The regulations for parental leave and parental allowance are designed in such a way that the father can also stay with the child and build a deep, intimate relationship. However, fathers often only take the two months explicitly provided for in the law. The legislator has provided a great deal of room for manoeuvre for both parents.
